RETURN, REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Our Commitment
At Blooming Rays, we stand behind every system we sell and install. This policy sets out your rights and our obligations when it comes to refunds, cancellations, and remedies and it is fully consistent with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which forms Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). Nothing in this policy limits or removes any right you have under the ACL.
Your Australian Consumer Law Rights
Under the ACL, you are automatically entitled to consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded or watered down. These include the right to a system that is of acceptable quality, safe, durable, and free from defects; is fit for the purpose you told us you needed it for; matches the description and specifications in your contract; and is installed with due care and skill by qualified, CEC-accredited professionals. If a product or installation fails to meet these guarantees, you are entitled to a remedy and no term in any contract can take that right away from you.
Cooling-Off Period
A statutory cooling-off period of 10 business days applies to contracts entered into as a result of an unsolicited sale, meaning door-to-door sales visits or outbound telemarketing contact initiated by Blooming Rays or its authorised representatives. This cooling-off right does not apply where you have provided your consent or contacted us first through our website, a referral, or an inbound phone enquiry.
If the cooling-off period applies to your contract, you may cancel within 10 business days of signing by notifying us in writing at sunshine@bloomingrays.com.au. No reason is required and no cancellation fee applies. Your deposit will be refunded in full within 5 business days of your written cancellation. You may also voluntarily waive your cooling-off right in writing at any time during the period if you wish to proceed with installation sooner.
Cancellations Before Installation
If Blooming Rays cancels, you will receive a full refund of all amounts paid including your deposit within 5 business days.
If you cancel after the cooling-off period but before installation begins, Blooming Rays is entitled to retain or recover reasonable costs already incurred, including materials ordered specifically for your system that cannot be returned to suppliers and reasonable administration costs capped at $350 unless greater costs are evidenced. We will provide you with an itemised written statement of any costs claimed within 10 business days. Your deposit will be applied toward these costs and any remainder refunded.
If grid connection approval is refused by the DNSP and cannot be resolved, you are entitled to a full refund of all amounts paid.
Cancellations After Installation
Once your system has been installed and commissioned, the contract is complete and cancellation rights do not apply except where a product or workmanship defect entitles you to a remedy under the ACL or our warranties. If you change your mind after installation, we are unable to offer a refund. This is consistent with the ACL, which does not require refunds for change of mind on installed goods.
Faulty Products and Defective Installation
If a product has a major failure under the ACL, meaning it is substantially unfit for purpose, unsafe, or fails to meet an express warranty, you are entitled to a full replacement or a refund of the affected component's value. Contact us and we will respond within 2 business days.
For minor failures, Blooming Rays will repair, replace, or provide a partial refund within 10 business days of the fault being reported.
All installation work is covered by our 10-year workmanship warranty. If a defect in the quality of the installation is identified within this period, we will dispatch a qualified technician to assess and remedy the defect at no cost to you. If we fail to remedy within a reasonable timeframe, you may be entitled to a partial refund of the installation component of the system price.
STC Rebate and Refunds
The federal STC rebate and battery STC incentive have been applied as an upfront discount on your invoice. You have assigned your STC entitlement to Blooming Rays as part-payment. If you cancel within the cooling-off period before installation, the full refund is based on the total amount you have actually paid. If a refund is issued after installation for any reason, the value of the STC rebate already claimed cannot be recovered. Only one battery STC claim is permitted per property address under federal law.
How to Request a Refund or Report a Fault
Contact us in writing at sunshine@bloomingrays.com.au with your name, address, contract number, and description of your request or the fault. We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days. Where required, a qualified technician will be dispatched within 10 business days to assess the issue. We will advise you in writing of the proposed resolution within 15 business days of your initial request. Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 5 business days of written agreement.
